Due to the novel corona pandemic, South Africa has announced a national lockdown from 25 march till 16 April 2020.

Everything has hit a stand still and people have been asked to stay at home. The shut down has left those who earn a living on a day to day basis without work. No work means no money. And for those that are the breadwinners of their family, this will mean hungry nights ahead.

In Khayelitsha, a large proportion of the population survive by day to day handy work and social grants. And three weeks without work means devastation. To help alleviated, even a small fraction of the population, we have handed out essential food and sanitary products to 130 families to keep them going over this lockdown period.

The parcels were handed out to the preschool teachers who have had to close down their preschools and families in the area of thaboMbeki. We are small, we are weak and we can only do so much so I bow before our Lord as we start our three weeks of lockdown.

Looking forward, following the three weeks lockdown there is no guarantee of things opening and work being found for these communities. More families will go without essentials following these three weeks and we wish to help and share God’s love in any small was we can.

2$20 will be able to provide for essentials for one family for about 2 weeks.

We asked that we walk together in these times of uncertainty and share hope through $20 with those in need. God is love, God is Hope.

Help us share that love and hope.

For the Kingdom!
