Food Ministry – A special request

1

Every December, we start food ministry. There were two leaders in
Khayelitsha who saw the need for this ministry and so it started 5 years
ago. When December comes, there are so many people that do labor work for food, and parents have a difficult time feeding their children. Every year, we share food to around 300 households. We give the
most basic ingredients such as corn flour, rice, wheat, oil, sugar and potatoes. The total amount adds up to about 40 dollars.

We ask for prayer regarding this ministry. With 40 dollars, a whole family is able to have meals for a month. We hope and pray that people will experience and see God’s love through the food ministry.

Madagascar School Construction (Preparation for opening day)

2Madagascar’s 19th school is almost complete with constructions.

The school is being built in an area named Vavatenina, where approximately 800 people live. We have
received support from a church in Canada.

With the completion of this building, we are sure that it will stand to be a hope for the neighborhood and act as a place where we will be able to share the gospel.

We are preparing for the opening service which is to take place on the 1st of November. Please pray that the teachers and students of this school will prosper and continue to learn about God and His plan for us.

Around 100 to 150 students will be studying at this school. Even though they live in harsh conditions, we pray that they will believe in God, trust in Him and dream of the kingdom he plans to create.

Madagascar

Rural Village Health Center Construction Project

3The village of Andilambula is a small area of Toamasina in Madagascar. It takes about 5 hours (20KM) from Andodabe village.

There are around 2200 people living in and around the area. The villagers’ main business is farming, and the main crops are casava’s, bananas and cloves.

The village is fighting against malaria, continuous diarrhea, colds, TB and Schistosoma but it does not
have a Health Center. Therefore, we should pray for the construction of a Health Center in this area. We
pray that many people will be cured through the prayer and donations.

Eswatini Jesus Village

4There are some prayer requests for Eswatini Jesus Village:

    1. Pray that this village is a place where God’s grace and existence can continue.
    2. We have started sharing food at schools. We pray that the students would grow healthy and stand firm as servants of God.
    3. We hope that the bridge construction and the well construction ends well in God’ s hands. Also that the establishment of the NGO will go as planned.
    4. We pray that the Mothers Prayer session and the After-School classes will be filled with the grace of God.
  1. We have started Sunday services in the Jesus Village church. Please pray that we serve and praise God more and more.
  2. People from Bucheon Samlak Church from Korea will be coming to Jesus Village for a Vision Trip from 5th November to 12th November.

Please pray that it would be a blessed time for all.

Transkei : With a short-term missionary

5 A team from Germany arrived to Wewent to Transkei with a young-adult from Korea.

The church windows which have been broken are to be fixed. We will hold Sunday services here. Some naughty children in the neighborhood break the windows on purpose and continue to do it as they find it fun.

We pray that the reconstruction will go safely and that the children will grow to resemble God’s goodness. There were many cases of rape, violence and violent murders in this area. The children are being exposed to violent media and are unable to distinguish between right and wrong.

We pray that the children will stop being open to this violence. We see hope in our Sunday services
and we believe that God will bring change to the children and adults in the area. He will hear our prayers
and see our hearts.

Please pray that there are more missionaries that come to Transkei and so that the next generation will
follow God’s footsteps. Jesus is our shepherd. He is our Father.

Children’s Church Camp

6 Recently, we had our 9th children’s camp.

Every camp, we gather around 20 to 30 sincere children under the age of 10 to attend our camp. The children arrive and we have dinner together. Then the camp starts with praise and worship.

We teach the children who carry water home how to shower and the children also learn to sleep with friends in a different environment.

Children who live in difficult situations in Khayelitsha receive love and comfort during the few days of the camp. We still have one more children’s camp and teachers camp this year. The children’s camp will be centered around primary school students and focused on building leaders through emerging leadership programs. Please pray that they will be students that dream to continue expanding God’s Kingdom.

The camp will be prepared and led by Luke, Katie and Pastor Mphundo who oversees children’s ministry. Luke came to serve in South Africa for 3 months last year and went back to the US to get married. Now he is back, serving together with his wife.

This teacher’s camp will be a tunnel spreading God’s love and hope to the people of Khayelitsha. Please pray that we will be able to see what He has in plan for us.

Short-term missionary CANNAN

78 I have had an incredible experience in South Africa in the past month. I have had the privilege to work with Pastor Mfundo in Khayelitsha, helping with Sunday School and spreading the love of Christ to every person I meet.

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to be a part of Vacation Bible Club, working alongside residents of Khayelitsha, the same age as me, to spread the gospel. That week, we had over 200 kids come each day, which was an immense blessing. Another week, I worked with a missions team from Segero Church in Busan, South Korea. They were an amazing team of hard-working young adults and it was a blessing to work with them. We helped many different missionaries in the Cape Town area during that week.

Then, last week, I was able to travel to Namibia with a group from the Africa Theological College. Along with these students, Pastor Ohm and I had an amazing time working with the Nama people in Bethanie, Namibia. God is truly doing a good work in southern Africa, and I’m so grateful that He chose to use me here.
