For the kingdom!!

Thank you for your love for Africa and prayer for His kingdom in Africa. It is so privilege to share with you how God’s kingdom is established daily in our life. God’s kingdom is eternal! His kingdom is around us and in us. Let us taste, look and enjoy his kingdom, and proclaim His kingdom.

There is a young German man, a brother, Simon. He worked with us here in South Africa for about 4 months around 5 years ago. Back then he was a law student in his final year who had come here to South Africa for some job experience, but thereafter he decided to do some community service before he returned to Germany, so joined us here in Cape Town. During the 4 months he spent in South Africa, God touched his heart, and He molded him into a new man. He changed so much that his visiting parents saw how his heart had changed to seek after God Simon and I talked often on the phone after he returned to Germany and he would tell me how he went to school every day for the kingdom. He is a faithful servant of God.

During one of our calls, Simon asked me to pray for him. His request was that he would be allowed to use a room with his professor in their graduation trip the following week. This was an odd request so I asked him why? His reasoning was simple. He wanted to share the Gospel with his professor who did not yet know our Saviour’s Love. A week later, we talked again. He had just returned from his trip so, out of curiosity, I asked him if he had shared a room with his professor? He sighed and said that it was a pity he did not get to do so, but he also confessed that it was all in God’s plans. He explained that at the trip the vibe was
to go out and have drinks but Simon sat on the bed of his room reading the bible. His roommate asked him what he was doing, once Simon told him that he was reading the bible his friend sat down beside him and asked him to tell him about the bible. So Simon told me that he and his friend sat all night talking of the bible. The next day Simon’s roommate invited everyone into
their room and began to share the gospel. Simon and I together thanked God for His grace and love; Simon also thanked God for using him. The joy in his voice filled my heart with joy:
Simon goes to school for the kingdom!
He meets his friends for the kingdom!
He looks at the fellow students on the Bench for the kingdom!

He loves His kingdom, His people, and His word. This is the kingdom that is in those who know of the love in his word. Lord, lead us to your kingdom we are here.

This morning a thought popped into my head. “I know and confess Jesus” This
is amazing and yet unbelievable as He is the true God.
The thoughts continued: “He knows me personally I will live forever…”
These thoughts fill me up with inexpressible joy.

The even greater blessing is that I am able to work with you in serving and
spreading His eternal kingdom I thank you. I love you.
It is through your concern and prayers that we have come this far God bless
you.

Last week, we went up to and evangelized in Transkei. We travelled the whole
1200Km distance without tiring but rather in joy and anticipation This is
God’s grace, and I feel that through this experience one can understand His
heart just a little. On our way back my heart was both filled with
frustration and joy Frustration from those who did not accept Jesus but
worshipped their ancestors, frustration from the arguing Jehovah’s witness
who had only read few sections of the bible, frustration from the sangoma
(witchdoctor) who said she was busy when we approached with the gospel . The
truth is here, yet they do not see They all need Jesus
We gave the gospel to an old man. He said that he was unable to accept the
gospel as he had too much sin, which could not be undone, and that he had
best just die. This old man learnt of God’s grace, and by this grace he was
saved when he accepted the Lord. He even tried to share the good news to his
friend, and when his friend tried to leave he shouted out after him that
Jesus was the way.

In the evening, we shared about our failures in following Jesus A young
adult spoke out. He had been in prison 5 times robbery Then he asked if
Jesus would still save him, if he were able to accept Him. That night he was
saved Glory and thanks to our lord who saves Let us proclaim His good
news.

Please pray with us:
1. The children’s churches have grown in numbers over this past year and we
now have over 120. The ministry is active and both the local coordinators
and missionaries are working very hard. Lord! Give us all the people that
the ministry requires Next year we could reach 200 children’s churches
Lord! Grant us 4 local coordinators and 2 missionaries.
2. We have started 6 youth programs within the children’s church. Through
this ministry we also seek out children’s church teachers. Lord! Lead our
youth here to become the next generation’s leaders, and grow youth that
loves children and has a dream for the future of their community
3. There are currently 15 first years and 15 second years, attending classes
every night at our bible college. Lord! Let these students be one that are
dedicated to His word, that prayer and reading of the word lead their lives
Also let their ultimate goal and all their effort be put into becoming like
Him and doing ministry like Him.
4. Through the preschool ministry, the continuous construction of them and
the afterschool lessons a care taking place, the Gospel is being spread in
the communities. Lord! There are still many places that need buildings, but
because of jealousy amongst community members the building process is
difficult and often unsuccessful. Lord! Have pity on these people, and let
the grace of the gospel settle in their hearts Also, pray that the youth
that come to the afterschool education classes will grow to become leaders
of the community and of God’s kingdom.
5. The printing of the Ethiopian refugees’ textbooks for bible training had
been stopped due to the lack of funds, but by the grace of God, 200 copies
were printed. We praise God, and pray that the leaders of this community of
people will be trained through these and become leaders who will be able to
plant hope and help them to overcome the difficulties of the refugee life
through faith. Pray that through this aall the Ethiopian refugees will be
able to shout a cry of victory during hard times.

For the kingdom!

I want to introduce Miri. Focusing on the kingdom of God to live the life of
the advance. Miri is German. Graduated from nursing school and worked as a
nurse at the hospital.
She lives in the gospel of the Lord of love and passion for Africa and down
into several short-term team.
As we witness Miri¹s life in walking with the Lord, seeing the face of God’s
kingdom looks.
This confession is how she lives her life in the Kingdom of God. The
hospital almost a week ahead of time intervals changed. When working at
night, resting during the day shift one week and back at night, sleep during
the day. Despite continued difficulty in changing the time
she can work hard and endure because of heart for her patients.
However, changes in working hours which will take place on time, did not
know how much hard work. Every time she leaves the 5 of alarm clocks before
sleep.
However it is not yet wake up on time. Even though 5 of ring the alarm, she
has to worry about wake up on time…. one day she decided that she will
entrust to the Lord for everything.
I’m a child of God .. she started to pray to the Lord. ³Lord! Patients who
are waiting. Take place at the right time to take care of the patient is
only way. I trust and believe in you that you will make me for that. I don¹t
want to be late for the the hospital. Lord to wake me up on time, please.²
She prayed and snuffed all 5 alarm, and she went to deep sleep.
Since that day gave the alarm on. God became an new alarm clock to Miri.
Without an alarm clock she did wake up on time because of her new alarm
clock, the Lord.
A few months have passed already.
In time for the last few months Lord always wakes her up on time.
When I visited Germany, I asked her husband, Simon for morning calls because
I have not come to bring alarm clock to wake up as early in the morning, and
if the suit asks for an alarm clock .. Simon said, alarm clock is not
obvious you need. Special alarm clock is called Miri….
A special faith, Miri trust and believe in God for everything … the
Kingdom of God is Miri¹s life. Only trust and lean on Him…

Thank You! Thank you so much. I never realized how much joy building the
kingdom with you and God brings to my heart.
The urgent prayer request, about the lack of funds for the 8th children’s
camp, has been granted through your prayers and support. Your love and heart
for the children here showed God’s heart to embrace these children. The camp
was completed last week in His grace and I thank you for your prayers and
support. “Lord! Hear and receive our praise. And bless these hands that give
and pray and let them be the children that know your plans and become the
cornerstone of your kingdom!”

The children who attended these 8 camps counted about 1000. These children
who live in poor and poverty filled areas have left this reality for the
first time in their lives. They arrive with their blankets and clothes for
the few day trip, their faces filled with anticipation and excitement no one
can express in words. It fills me with Joy. Although the facilities of the
camp are not all that great, these children seem to feel loved and more then
content. These children, who are looked down on and considered a burden in
their homes, are served their food before the teachers and by the teachers
themselves. They feel this strange but soon realize that this is love that
God has for them. They are precious to Him. They sit listening intently to
be sure not to miss any words God is teaching them. I look through the camp.
I see the children who sit and chat with their friends, I see those who
dance and sing, I see the smiles and excitement when learning a new game, I
see the youngsters who are too young to join, but laugh and find joy in just
watching or just copying from a distance. I also see the teachers who have
to run about to keep the excited children under control, the children
preparing for the talent show and the people sweating in the kitchen in order
to feed these children. This is God’s Kingdom. This year’s camp theme was
PRAYER. I saw God wanting to talk to these children.
“Lord! You are standing near to these children; let these children
experience you. Often in Life when things get tough and they feel like they
do not know where they are going, stand by them and encourage them. Help
them to know you are near. They are your children. Help them to make knowing
you, and becoming like you the priority of their lives”
Please pray with us:
1. Please pray that the children will continue to pray and grow to become
like you so that they can establish God’s Kingdom.
2. The children¹s churches are growing. We currently have about 120
churches and I pray that the joy of the teachers and coordinators involved
will continue to grow and that this ministry will be able transform this
community into His kingdom, which dreams His dreams.
3. Many of the children’s churches have now begun a youth program and
soccer teams. Please pray for more people to commit to this ministry as we
are short of staff.
4. Every month we are holding a preschool teacher’s seminar. Please pray
that through this the teachers will be able to see the children with His
eyes and teach them with His heart and love.
5. We have, for the first time ever, held a bible college camp. For many
of the students who attended it was the first time that they have ever read
the whole of the New Testament. They were filled with unspeakable joy.
Please pray that they will be able to live a bible-centered life.
6. We have put Pastor abenago in charge of a church in sentubi, Transkei.
This church was started by evangelism with the team. Many people will need
to meet with God here; please pray for the pastor and the many souls that
will be given to God and grow with Him. Many of these people live tied down
in ancestor worship. Lord! Proclaim your salvation in this land.
7. The Madagascar pastors’ training is being planned. A pastor from the
US is coming around to talk of evangelism. We have planned to hold this
conference in two different cities with about 300 pastors and church
leaders. Please pray that this will be an opportunity that will change
Madagascar, and that God will be leading the process of planning and
preparing for conference. At the moment Madagascar has not yet found Bibles
for Madagascar. Please pray that there will be someone who loves Madagascar
and will begin to print Bibles over there.
8. We are now planning to expand the Montessori crèche into the township
areas and so are looking for land to build a crèche. Please pray that this
will work out smoothly and that through this crèche many children will be
able to meet God and learn of His love.

For the kingdom!

I thank you for your constant prayers and love. I would like to write about His kingdom, His kingdom that I see and experience here in Africa. The kingdom that He wants and the kingdom that the Holy Spirit is making With you, my brothers and sisters, I would liketo proclaim and establish His Kingdom. I will send an article every month,please read it and share with us here your experiences, views and be a guidance to us For the kingdom Everything should be God¹s kingdom.

 This is the kingdom of God.

I shout, “For the kingdom!” I meet every new day for the kingdom of God and as I meet the new day I feel tension and anticipation for his coming kingdom. How will this kingdom look? What kind of kingdom will weexperience? The whole universe is God’s kingdom! Everything (myself, family, friends, work, shop, school, nation, factory,business, culture, food, houses, mountains, oceans, trees, cars, money,computer, my life, etc.) was of God.

God made everything.There is nothing he didn¹t create. But Satan claims that everything belongs to him. People try to fight against God with their sins transforming from God¹speople into his enemy. Satan deceived us and Satan brought idea of division in our thought between sacred world and secular world, and between the world and the kingdom of God. Such a great deceiver Satan become controller over human being, when people see division. Everything is the handiwork of God, His masterpiece. He owns everything. Everything in this world is God¹s. God¹s world was wounded by Adam’s sin. Satan made his way into this wound,and he contaminated it.But Jesus came into this world, he bore the cross and died; he came closer to the wound. Jesus rose from the dead, and declared, ³the world is mine²and that all authority is in God… Yes, God owns everything. There was nothing in the world that is Satan¹screation. Satan cheated us.

Everything has been restored. Everything will be to the glory of God.In everything we can see God¹s image.The eternal kingdom of God …This is the will of God and God will accomplish Shout! Let us proclaim!Jesus is in me. I am the kingdom of God.The Holy Spirit in me. We live forever.My family will live forever.My friends will live forever.My Life and work is the kingdom of God. My school is the kingdom of God.The Shop is the kingdom of God.The Plants is the kingdom of God.My country is the kingdom of God God has invited us to his world. To the eternal kingdom..From now on, we live forever.We are the kingdom of God. With anticipation and excitement …

My son, Kyung Hwan, and my daughter, Mi Jung, arrived in Africa.
Soon after, Kyung Hwan enrolled into a first grade and Mi Jung in the
kindergarten.
For 12 years, Kyung Hwan studied in Africa.
Then he decided to attend to a university in Korea.

As I saw him leave, unanticipated sadness emerged in.
When I dropped him off at school, we would always shout “For the Kingdom!”.
When one of us was away from the town, we would send each other the
e-mails that ended with our motto, “For the Kingdom!”.
Several weeks before Kyung Hwan left,
I pondered over the notion of being a “father”… what can I do for my
son as his father?
Then another question arose,
“What are the traits of a father living in His Kingdom? What kind of a
father does God desires me to be for my daughter and my son?”
God always asks and reminds us of who we are and what we are meant to do.

A role of a father living in the Kingdom of God is to represent the
Father in heaven and to discipline a child to know and follow Him.
When Lord gave me two beautiful children and along with it, a title, “father,”
How deeply was I moved!
What delight I felt when my first child was granted to me!
God saw me as Kyung Hwan’s father…..

I must…
1. be a father who calls Him, “Abba Father! Our Father! Father God!”
2. be affectionate and interested in my children (as much as He is to us)
3. daily be a true believer. I want to teach them to live by faith
4. share my spiritual struggles with my children. Being a man who has
short-comings. Yet seeking God.
5. discover how to live as a father and a child in the Kingdom of God
6. be a spiritual mentor, a teacher and a student.
7. be obedient
8. pursue unity (one with the Father. one with the neighbour)
9. do the work of God. Respected for my love for God
10. be diligent and discerning. In the frontline. To lead
11. be a guide to following the Christ better
12. be an optimist. Not to gossip. No negative things coming out of
the mouth. Because of my trust in the Lord
13. consider others before me
14. live with hope and dreams. Life in faith
15. not be a slave of money
16. bring love of God in the time being
17. be people-centred
18. not fear showing my limits and depend on the Lord
19. live every moment in His will
20. become like Christ

It is a privilege to live as a father in the Kingdom of God and to
represent the King eternal.
I pray that my children may become like me becoming like Him
As a parent and children look alike.
Because I am their father, I want to say that I have hope for them.
Lord! You are our Heavenly Father. Teach us how to be a father. Teach
us to be like You. I yearn to know Your heart.
I want to find You in fathering the sons and daughters
More and more
I hope to learn Your ways, and to become like You

For the kingdom

There is someone precious who lives for God’s Kingdom. His name is
Moses. He is not exactly the same but somehow similar to Moses in the
Bible.

He is Chinese and grew up under communism. In the pursuit of a better
living condition, Moses paid much money to come to South Africa. And
there he met Jesus Christ.
He changed little by little becoming a faithful disciple of Jesus
Christ after 2 years. When he first came to South Africa, he was
working so hard to make a lot of money. However, since he met God, he
was no longer interested in money. His heart was towards those who
don’t know about Christ. His biggest interest was for them to accept
Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. At the present, he is preaching the
gospel in a small town in Johannesburg in South Africa.

While on the way to Madagascar for a pastoral training, I happened to
stay in Johannesburg due to a conflict in the flight schedule. And I
met Moses there. I was really glad to see him and started to ask some
questions regarding his ministry in Johannesburg.
Smiling brightly, He began to share… Even though it must have been
so difficult for him to deal with all the hardships, I could sense in
him the joy of living by grace of Lord.

According to Moses, there are a lot of people who just came from
China. They would do anything to earn more money. Yet there are many
who spend all their money on drinking and gambling. God felt pity and
sent Moses to those poor people.
Couple Chinese families share a house where each lives in a room to
save up more money. So is Moses’ family (his wife and two beautiful
little children).
In such circumstance, Moses loves, serves and preaches the good news.
I visited his place and found it to be awful. There was no place for
me to sit. The room wasn’t big enough to raise two children and they
slept on the mattress without the bed frame.
He finds it convenient to have meals together with other families. Not
only that but he also finds it alright to share the washroom. He
considers it good to go through all these things with others because
it creates opportunities to love, to embrace, to mentor and to preach
the gospel. In that way, people get to share their difficulties and
ask for prayer.
Despite the troubles in life, he thankfully calls it all His grace. He
told me he will move out in 2 months. He decided to move to another
place because everyone in his present place heard the Word of God.
When I asked about the new place, he didn’t say anything but smiling.
I applaud his wife for being so supportive and brave.

I asked him how he manages living and he replied, he just prays.
When he needs something, he prays.
His life doesn’t adhere to anything in this world.
He is heart-broken by the situation where he has nothing more to give.
Love welling up for those who do not believe. A true mark of Christ he worships.

He has been preaching the gospel for 3 years raising the disciples like him.
The desire to continue this work, he can’t change with anything.
For the kingdom

I love the 21st century. Our Father has been revealing himself,
leading the course of humanity for thousands of years, and teaching us
the concept of human equality. And now He let individualism into our
society.

Human beings have built and lived under the “vertical” social structure.
There was imperialism.
People have been judged by high and low social status and by what they
have and what they don’t have.
How miserable it must have been to be judged by their status, family
background, title or social position.

It is evident that our Lord is the one who has been patiently teaching
us for 2,000 years.
Jesus commands us to love our God and to love others as ourselves.
Throughout the Old Testament, God teaches us to love Him and
throughout the New Testament, he teaches us to love one another.

I realize again that every individual is equal.
Previously, we couldn’t understand each other.
But now in the “horizontal-structured” society, we have “neighbors.”
O Lord… Now I know those living next to me.

Love your neighbor as yourself…
He has shown us that this is the second greatest commandment.
Everybody is equal to me. Everyone is as important as I am. Our jobs,
our positions, our knowledge and our properties vary but we are the
same and equally significant.
The people, who are equal to me, are parts of His body.
It took us 2000 years to acknowledge this structure.
During the period of the vertical structure, we couldn’t fathom the
phrase, “Love others as yourself.”

Love others. Love is to be one.
Like the way we are to be united by God’s love,
the way a married couple confesses,
and the way a mother connect with her child, we become one unit as we
love each other.
To treat others in the way I would want to be treated…
To feed and care for others’ needs as I would to myself is to become one.

Lord!
You came to this world as fully man and yet fully God commanding us to
be united with one another.
Enable us do so in love and to live in Your kingdom here.
Inspire us to experience the joy of being in communion with You by
loving Your beloveds and to proclaim Your kingdom.
My neighbor is the part of Your body.
Others are like another me.
Loving others is to love myself.

Thank you so much for your continuous prayer, interest and support. Becauseyou are always with us in prayer we strive on towards building His kingdom.And because it is you my brothers and sisters I have brewed up the courageto ask for urgent prayer and support. God loves all His people, but He especially loves the little children. TheChildren¹s churches here have been seeing great growth, and now there arechildren¹s churches in 120 areas over Khayelitsha.Seeing around 6000 children meet every week, and about 100 teachers at theseminars, we here can see a little into God¹s heart when he said, ³ Do notstop the little children from coming to meŠ²We are also reminded, through every Kids camp we hold, that we have to belike those little children to enter into heaven. At these camps Gods lovefor the children is being engraved into our hearts. This year¹s camp theme is Œprayer¹. We hope that through prayer the childrencan talk to God and seek Him and His vision and plan for them.Last week, by His grace, we had two camps, one with 150 children and anotherwith 100 children. And this week, 14 Children¹s churches combined togetherto have a camp with a total of 150 children. Already at the beginning of thecamp the bus rented was not enough to take the children, so the missionariesdrove back and forth many times to get the children to the campsite. Thechildren¹s faces are full excitement and anticipation as for most of them itis the first time they are going away from home and they have been waitingon this day already from the beginning of the yearŠ This year we have planned to hold 8 of these precious camps, but currentlywe have only the funds for 6 of these camps and are short of about $4500 forthe other two. For one camp, 2 nights and 3 days, for 150 children andteachers, each child needs about $15. About 300 children are waiting inexcitement and anticipation for their camp, but to say to them that it willnot be happening due to short funds seems unfairŠJust a little support from everyone can make the camp happen for thesechildren. We here are praying in faith that God will fill the funds for thecamp, and continue to plan for the children¹s camps. Please walk with us bydonating and helping us co-workers in Christ. I would like to greet you in the Name of our Lord and with this kind of
prayer.
“Lord! I feel a smile spread across my face as I call you Father.
I am filled with joy as I think of Jesus and I feel steadfast and secure, as
you have given me purpose here on this land.
As Your holy spirit is with me, I am your kingdom.
I see you kingdom here on this earth.
Thank you. Thank you for letting this worthless servant proclaim your
kingdom here in Africa. Thank you”

At the moment we are preparing for the short-term missionaries to come. The
German team has already come in April and between June and December we will
be having 6 more mission teams coming to do ministry. Most of our ministries
have been either started by or developed by the short-term mission teams
throughout the years. So we wait in anticipation, and are already excited to
see the works that He will do through the teams that he has so carefully
chosen for His works here in South Africa.
In preparation for the Mission teams to come we are busy renovating and
fixing up the mission homeŠ as we paint the walls and stand on the roof
plugging up the leaks and cracks we think of all the teams that will be able
to have their rest, within these walls and under this roof, after a long
hardworking day with the Lord. As we paint the walls white, the house seems
to take on Jesus¹ purity, as we fix the roof, his peace is felt and as we
scrape off the moss and dirt from the walls we too feel renewedŠ I am
gratefulŠ
This years¹ missions teams will be establishing new children¹s churches,
doing holiday programs for the children, camps for the teachers and
children, door to door evangelism, visiting schools to spread his word, and
build preschools as well as have time with the children to share His love
with them. I pray that they will be teams of people who have come in search
of Jesus, those who want to be a witness for this kingdom and those who will
do ministry as Jesus didŠ
³Lord! We wait in anticipation and excitement to see the kingdom that you
will build with the teams, see the kingdom that you proclaim through the
teams and the Love and blessing that you will pour out on this land through
these teams.²

This is my prayer: that we as missionaries, short or long term will be able
to fulfill our core taskŠ to share the gospel, the good news of our risen
king and savior, of eternal life and the chance to be a part of God¹s great
family, to be one with him, to feel his love and presence on youŠ To share a
common dream with God, that all here in Khayelitsha will be able hear this
good news and praise God as one family.
This is the day when everyone will be able to see more than just glimpses of
His KingdomŠ Everywhere people will hear the gospel, love and care for one
another, they will forgive one another, encourage and give hope to one
another and together we will worship and glorify his nameŠ
³Lord! Jesus, who took on the cross for these million people of Khayelitsha,
use us, your servants, to bring this your kingdom into this land. Be with
us, lead usŠ²

1. 1. That we, who will be working with the short-term mission
teams will have wisdom
2. That we will go to each house that we visit in anticipation,
excitement and with a grateful heartŠ
3. For the new children¹s church that has been established in makhasa.
4. For the children¹s and teacher¹s camps that will take place in June.
5. That the students of the Motor mechanic school will be able to learn
God.
6. The cold and rainy winter is approaching, please pray for the bible
college students, who work in the day and study at night, that they will
experience the warmth and courage that God gives. Please also pray that the
