God’s Kingdom – Kingdom morning… on the way to Khayelitsha

There is a thought that enters my mind every morning as I drive to Khayelitsha. What God wants is to develop His Kingdom in the middle of this land. There is a declaration that I shout daily during my drive: Lord! Khayelitsha is your land. Lord! You declared that Khayelitsha is your kingdom while you bore the cross. You saw beforehand what would happen 2000 years later in Khayelitsha, and you proclaimed it as your own. Make it happen through me, your servant. May the world see Khayelitsha the way You see it. Lord! I know without a doubt that you put me here to establish your Kingdom here. Lord! I shout without hesitation that I am here! Use me! I want to be your tool as you form Khayelitsha to your vision according to your Kingdom. Today, I want to see a better Khayelitsha as part of Your Kingdom. I want to be part of materializing your vision of the Kingdom. Make everything I do become a blessing to the Kingdom. May every thought, every action, every meeting and every effort in every moment become your Kingdom. Lord! I face Khayelitsha with Your eyes, with Your heart, with Your mind and I look to your Kingdom.

Kindom Article #4

I was thinking this morning on my way to Khayelitsha, “in God’s kingdom, who would receive the most respect? What type of person would be the most popular? Most mighty? Who would God honor?” Immediately I had a very simple answer. People who clean after others… those who do the work people hate to do, things that the lowliest have to do…

people who excel in school! People with tons of money! The successful! People with power! Smart people! No matter how much I think about it, I know that it’s not these… not that they are bad just because of what they have. If they boast and look down on others with their positions and possessions, what they have gained will just cause them harm in the end. One thing is for sure: as a citizen of God’s kingdom, if one can joyfully do anything that others hate to do, God will honor them. Someone that can truly serve others, one that is selfless… even though one is able to gain and possess much, to give it all up to humbly serve… God will undoubtedly honor them. The mighty in heaven… one who is humble and has a servant heart. One who sacrifices and gives, and is modest – this is experiencing the Kingdom, this is the life of the Kingdom.

Father! Make me one who only looks to the Kingdom beyond this world. Make me one that you would honor in your Kingdom, a person of your Kingdom. I want to be made of humility and servanthood. Grant me the joy of surrender and sacrifice so that I may reside in the Kingdom.

For the kingdom!!!!

This morning I woke up and shouted, “For the Kingdom!” and a feeling of the existence of eternal life came to me. I will live eternally! Even if I die, I’m not dead! When realizing that I will live eternally, the world seems like such a trivial place. Why do we toil at such aimless and meaningless things! Is it because of our pride? I laugh at myself, always trying to eat one more piece, one more bite, one more sip. I realize once again, in me is eternal life… I think about the things I seek after, the useless things, the things that will rot away, how I get hurt, waste time, hurt others…

When I think about living eternally… everybody is so precious… the poor, and the weak, whom I can help, makes me smile. May those who boast of their education seek wisdom of the Kingdom, and may those who lack knowledge have courage to seek God.

Eternal life exists; everything is God’s grace. Only when we realize the fullness of God’s grace can we be thankful for all things. Eternal life!!! Father God, I am your child. Your forever Kingdom, your child of your Kingdom. I have everlasting life.

For the Kingdom!

I raised my thumb, as I usually do, and said to Nosipho, “For the Kingdom!” but she just smiled and replied, “I know”.

- I was inwardly slightly disappointed. There’s nothing as good as the Kingdom… even the reason my whole family is in Africa is for the Kingdom… when you declare for the Kingdom, He gives you wisdom, and the ability and joy of knowing and living for the Kingdom.

My wife isn’t feeling well, so I brought food to the kindergarten. While arriving at Rainbow Educare center, I saw many little children raising their thums, yelling Ubukamkani (for the Kingdom in Khosa).

- Lord! Establish your kingdom in the midst of their lives. Take your place in their lives, even in the midst of the small and dirty building where they spend most of their time. Remember me in my tiredness after circling all many the different kindergartens, with laughter and joy… the peace of the Kingdom…

I had a meeting with a new missionary. Lord, we meet for the Kingdom.

- I was overjoyed to see this new missionary, to see how you will use him, how lovely it is to serve you. Lord, I want to serve him and lead him to be a great missionary. Make him a missionary who only looks to the Kingdom.
While watching my wife sleep, I want to shout for the Kingdom, and naturally thank God who gave me my wife. How much I love my wife!

- I say to my wife, you are the life of my life, the bone of my bones. In a word, honey, you are me, I am you. Isn’t this truly experiencing God’s kingdom?

To all my brothers and sisters serving God and working for the Kingdom… I humbly share my thoughts with you. Everything in me only hopes for the Kingdom.

To my forever family, who live for the Kingdom

I woke up and shouted, for the Kingdom!

- God granted another day for the Kingdom… with overflowing joy, I looked forward to the day with thanksgiving and expectation and excitement… I will take on the day for the Kingdom.

While on the toilet, I shouted, for the Kingdom! It was a little bit embarrassing.

- after some more thought, I decided to be rid of uselessness, dirtiness and foulness.

While eating with my wife at the dining table, I shouted for the Kingdom! Inwardly and raised my spoon.

- that’s right, with the Lord’s strength and with all my being let’s make His Kingdom come. Lord! I want to follow and worship only You!
While driving to Khayelitsha, I yelled, “for the Kingdom!” pretty loud. (no one was around, and this is a great time to talk privately)

- then I was faced with a dilemma. How do I drive for the Kingdom. I always drive rudely, tailgating cars in front, trying to cut in front of others, my rude driving habits… Lord! I want to drive without causing other drivers to be angry. So I drove while allowing others to go in front of me, and even smiled at them. (this felt great)

Driving to Khayelitsha, Lord! I’m going to Khayelitsha for the Kingdom. You died for the people of Khayelitsha 2000 years ago, you bore the cross, you want this to be Your Kingdom. Give us your vision and the ability to share your vision for Khayelitsha with others.

These are some thoughts I wanted to share with coworkers of the Kingdom. I hope to write a short entry every other week. I hope to share your responses, experiences, and thoughts together.

For the Kingdom,
