Dear
families
in
Christ,
It has been an incredible time with the team from my home church,
Vancouver Korean Presbyterian Church. We can't think of any
better way to celebrate our first year in South Africa. It was
overwhelming when the team visited our Zola ministry. It has been
a great time for us to reflect on what God has shown me in the past
year. It is an uplifting experience to feel the love from my home
church through the team. We sincerely thank you for your prayers and
support for the past year.
With
love,
Abohna,

and
Jung WITH
MANY
WILLING
HEARTS
We have been
eagerly praying to find a new site to build a new preschool. We
decided to build a preschool/church in Greenpoint. The Onuri
Church from Pusan came and finished the structure and the roof.
Then, the team from Calgary's Good Tree finished the walls. The
Good Tree team, Seattles's Compass team and Vancouver VKPC team
collaborated together. The concrete was poured on the floor,
liner
boards were installed, windows and doors installed and a large tree
bearing fruit of the Spirit was painted. Now we have nearly
completed preschool/church building. God has created an awesome
building out of many willing hearts and your prayers from around the
world. I pray that he continues His ministry in this building in
the same way with many more willing hearts. Thank you for your
prayers for our preschool construction. LIVING
FOR
THE
KINGDOM
After two days
of hard work, VKPC team took a break after Sunday Worship in Madelabos
church. We went to an Indian restaurant in Cape Town and went to
the nicest mall. We had three members who came to South Africa
for the first time. During the reflection time they shared about
how they felt that day. One of them said that she was frustrated
because she couldn't wait to work with the people in the townships to
share the Gospel, and felt very out of place due to extreme contrast
between the rich and the poor. Another one shared that the
sightseeing was very helpful, because she could understand South
Africans in a broader context and the other girl shared that despite
the situation in the townships, God's creation is still much more
amazing and beautiful than what people has made. All of them were
busy thinking about Christ and His people all day. I just told
them that they did sightseeing "For the Kingdom." ABUNDANT
LIFE
What
is
abundant
life?
What do you have to be in this world for you to
be able to say that you are living an abundant life? While we
were working on the Greenpoint building, Christine took a break to
prepare for the Children's Church that was going to happen later that
day. She was coloring the story book they had made to share the
story about Jonah. Out of nowhere, three kids, showed up and
started helping her. After they joyfully finished coloring the
story book, she used the story book to tell them about Jonah.
Maybe abundant life is nothing more than His help while we are doing
His work and sharing the joy with others, especially when we can smile
like her while we are living it out. Now, how do we share it with
people how great it is to live an abundant life?
BACK
TO
TRANSKEI
Our next leg of the journey will take us to Quebe where Pastor James
serves. It is the third time the VKPC team is visiting Quebe
since 2000. Please pray for our safety, and strength, so we won't
be distracted from His work. We will be staying there for one
week.
