We are planning
on seperating very young children from Wendy's Children's Church in
Zola, because new method we have initiated would be more effective with
children age 3 and up. Please pray that we can properly guide younger
ones as well.
A team from Onuri church in Pusan arrived on Saturday. We started a
preschool building in Greenpoint alongside an existing one.
Our newsletters
are on African Leadership's website. You can access them through our
blog
as well.
Helen and Wendy are working on translating the proper language in
guiding children to Xhosa and we will start using it during the Sunday
school in Zola. It will be our first practical step in implementing
Montessori in townships.
Auto Mechanic Ministry's first six-month-course will end in July.
Please pray
for a constructive evaluation, so we can grow further as a ministry.

Dear
families
in
Christ,
When would you say that you or someone is blessed? What would you
consider a blessing? We believe that God's presence is at the root of
all things we
consider a blessing. Just like the poem, 'Footprints
in
the sand,' His presence in our lives is the key to our
fulfillment. It is the encouragement and strength to become who God
intended us to be.
With
love,
Abohna,
Helen
and
Jung

BLESSED
ARE
THE
POOR IN SPIRIT
When Cynthia came to the
Saturday Bible study in Zola for the first time, she was crying and
pleading for help and prayers. She had been living with Epileptic
seizures. Every time she was about to get a seizure, which was quite
often,
she gets terrified for her children. She has two children, the one in
the
picture and an infant. Two weeks later she came and shared that she had
a seizure only once and it was after the babies were fast asleep, so
she was thankful to God. She has never been able to sleep with
her children without her own mother in the same room, because she was
afraid
for the children. However, she started to believe that God is with her
and
her children. Now, she is sleeping alone with her children and she is
so joyful everytime I see her.

BLESSED
ARE
THOSE
WHO MOURN
Afika is the youngest one in
my
Saturday Bible study group in Zola. She is still in high school. We
were studying about God's blessing last week when she suddenly started
crying
unconsolably. The story was that her father kicked her out of the
house because of a misunderstanding over R20 ($3) and he threw rocks at
her when she came
near the house. Although we all know that our Earthly father's love is
nothing compare to our Heavenly Father, an Earthly example such as this
is never easy to
take in. We prayed that God's
presence would be apparent as He restores the relationship between
Afika and her father. We pray for God's abundant love on her and
on children in similar situations.

BLESSED
ARE
THE
MEEK (HUMBLE)
What is the best way to
celebrate your birthday when you are married? According to Brian and
Nicola, our preschool student Jesse's parents, it is cooking three
large pots of very special soup for children in Zola. Brian is a
doctor, but he told me that sometimes it gets tough on him, because he
believes that 80 percent of his patients need love and care instead of
medicine. Since he became a Christian early this year, he has been
seeking for ways to share the truth with people, the truth that has
been perfecting his love and care for the people in need. More than 50
children came and were blessed by what Brian's family prepared. Please
enjoy a slideshow here.

BLESSED
ARE
THOSE
WHO HUNGER AND THIRST FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS
Chad is Tana's brother in law.
One day Tana told me that Chad was very curious about what a missionary
does. I asked Chad to tag along with me one day. I took him to the
Makhaza
preschool construction site and worked with St. Timothy's church team.
He also participated in the Children's Church in the area. He told me
that
he's never been so fulfilled and happy in his life. On our way home, I
could see genuine joy in his eyes. The next day, Tana told me that Chad
acted
like he had found his calling. Since then, he has been working with me
in the Zola ministry. He constantly tells me that his life is not about
himself anymore, but is only about God. I pray that God would
fill
him up with His presence. "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for
righteousness, for they will be filled." |
