Dear families in Christ,
When we receive love and care, it is especially meaningful when it comes from our faith in Christ. Brian, a student's father, transformed the school garden, Wendy's brother planted carrots, spinach, and pumpkins, and Cathy and Elaine, missionries from Korea and Canada came and deeply blessed the children. Many others showed us undeserved love, care and deep trust, but only because we are servants of Jesus Christ. We thank you for your prayers and love. Praise the Lord!
With love,
Abohna, Helen and Jung

HOPE IN OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN

ThembiThe guy on the right is Thembi, a smart 18 year old boy.  He is one of my students at the Auto Mechanic Ministry.  I teach the students the Bible in the morning and at first, Thembi had big (very concrete) plans for his life which is rare in Khayelitsha. Those plans were worldly bust as I saw him mature through the Bible, I prayed that God would break him down and rebuild his hope for the future. We did a 12 question workshop during the class yesterday. The workshop is meant for you to re-examine your views of life and compare them with the Bible. His answers were expectedly insightful. but for questions regarding his personal future goals and effort to achieve them, they were just funny. He wrote, "I'd love to drive a fancy car, big house and sexy girls and fame." and to achieve it he wrote, 'Make sure I look as best as I can and believe in myself.' He was trying to hide that his previous plans were not valid anymore in his life by making a joke. When I asked, he admitted it. Praise the Lord for His work in Thembi. His answer to the question 10, "What is faith?" was "Having hope in our Father in Heaven and truely believing in it."

SIYA, TANA, AND US AS A TEAM

siyaSiya lived a very rough life. His brother and he ran away from home, but his brother didn't return home for three years. Now his brother is in jail awaiting a trial for raping his 7 year old cousin. Siya also went to jail several times. To simply put it, he was a thug. He said drugs and alcohol were the main problem. He was saved through African Leadership and now he serves Children's Church as a new man. When he heard our plans for Zola in helping people with drugs and alcohol problems, he wanted to join us. With Siya, we will be able to reach out to the husbands as well. Praise the Lord! Tana, our student Rebecca's mother, visted two houses in Zola last week and shared the Good News.

CONCLUDING OUR SECOND TERM

li
In a week, we will conclude our second term at Liyabona Montessori. There are so many things to be thankful for. The children love the school and we have been developing close relationships with the parents. Also, we are working with Tana, Rebecca's mother, in Zola as a ministry partner. Wendy in the picture is not only a teacher in training, but she has also grown into a valuable partner in our minitry. She is an integral part of our school and the main leader in the Sunday School ministry in Zola. Most of all, her growth in Christ has been one of the biggest sources of encouragement to us. Because of the apparent change in her life, our ministry is warmly welcomed by her family and by the neighbourhood. Praise the Lord!

THANK YOU

mother's dayWe want to thank our parents for being here with us and all the support they have been giving us. Many ministries we do wouldn't have been possible without them here. On the mother's day weekend, I took my parents and Elder Pai couple to an ostridge farm. We didn't do the tour but enjoyed ostridge burgers. Elder Pai works with me in the Auto Mechanic Ministry and invloved in many other ministries.  Mrs. Pai is the mama of the Mission Home.
