Dear families in Christ,
It has been an interesting month in South Africa.  While newspapers have been shouting about racism and political agendas that spawned from a murder, we, worker bees of the Kingdom have been busy loving one another and teaching the ways of Jesus.  We humbly ask you to pray for us so we can stand firm in the name of our Lord.
With love,

JUNGLE GYM & MEETING WITH PARENTS

jgDuring the break, African Leadership gave jungle gym as a gift to Liyabona Montessori Preschool.  Also, our neighbor donated their swings to us.  I have to say that I felt bad when the children were climbing on the weed infested pile of dirt in the center of the playground.
Helen had a teacher/parent meeting last night and I could see that the parents were very supportive of what we were doing.  One of the parents even wants to be trained in our school along with Wendy.  It is certain they are interested in our mission work, but it is still not clear how we are going to get them involved.  Please continue to pray for God's wisdom and guidance.

GOD IS THERE...

During the two week break, I was able to take Wendy and Helen to African Leadership devotional meetings. Wendy shared her testimony.  She has two children, Lisa and Tony.  She said she had three last year but during Easter last year, her youngest daughter died from a Gastric Intestinal Infection.  She was lssitting in the hospital and blaming God and felt that there was no God.  She lived recklessly since then.  However in January this year her life changed when she met us.  She found a way to depend on Jesus and truly believe in him.  Over Easter, her daughter Lisa got sick and was admitted to a hospital.  Doctors said that she had poison in her system and that they couldn't help her.  Wendy believed that God would help her and that she would be okay.  Wendy confessed that God is there and that if you are a true disciple, God would be there for you.  Lisa was healthy and strong when I saw her last week.

ZOLA CHILDREN'S CHURCH

DZPastor Denzyl, Graham, and Lawrence, who is an African Leadership board member visited Zola church in an effort to partner with us.  The Gorden's Bay Baptist church has been actively helping African Leadership but for them, Khayelitsha was too far to get physically involved in the ministry.  Ever since we started the Children's Church in Zola, they wished to partner with us.  Before the service started, we interviewed 40 children. We had about 70 children that day. Please click here to see a slideshow of the 40 children.

THULANI

zThulani is a boy who lives in Zola.  He always comes to the Sunday School with his younger sister and he takes care of her.  Helen noticed that he never took his eyes off of Helen when she was teaching and seemed to enjoy the class very much.  We have learned that he is so busy at home helping out with his family chores and work that he never has any time for his studies or for himself.  The Sunday School was a great break for him.  He is turning 10 this year and he wants to be a policeman.  We pray that he would become a great policeman.
